Bert-Bert

Bert is one beautiful cat with a great name and a ton of personality. Photographing cats is very different from photographing dogs (as I’m sure you can imagine), and Bert was a great subject.

Here are the “rules” when it comes to photographing cats:

The cat is in charge
The cat is in charge
The cat is in charge

Well, that’s what they need to think at least. You just have to let them “do their own thing” while you follow them around and photograph them being beautiful! It just takes a little patience – a big thanks to Bert’s mom for being so very cool and loving her fur-baby so very much

Oliver & Owen

Now, I know I love pugs and I know I love beagles… so when I heard about Oliver & Owen who are puggles I was so excited to meet them. Oliver & Owen are actually brothers – their parents only set out to get one puppy, but when they saw these two they couldn’t choose just one… I don’t blame them! Even though they look alike they have personalities of their own. Owen is on the left and Oliver on the right – they are both full of love, kisses, and tail wags. They also have a sister cat named Chloe, who is the queen of the upstairs. She’s pretty shy but we were able to get a few photos of her as well. Owen had just learned how to “roll-over” so he was proud to show the whole family his trick!

Kitties… and Bunnies Need Love Too

It’s been raining a lot the past few days here in Dallas, a far cry from Blue Mutt’s Afternoon Off. So we’ve been stuck inside – which is okay with me, because it means I get to spend time petting cats and rabbits! I’ve never had a bunny as a pet, but they are so soft I could pet them all day long. And you don’t have to sell me on the cats, I grew up with them and had them as pets up until I met my husband, who by the way is allergic to cats and rabbits These love bugs are looking for homes as well at the SPCA of Texas.

This beautiful white cat had me giggling the entire morning. I’ve never seen a cat this cross-eyed. Pretty endearing!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Today is SPCA Thursday, but it poured here in Dallas all night and all morning. So all the puppies were very sad to find out that they couldn’t go out into the thunderstorm to play. Willie was also sad, so he decided to go back to bed – great sleeping weather!

I spent my morning inside, photographing some cats in need of a good home. They were so sweet, most of them started purring when I opened the door to their kennel, ready to get a good rub down!
