Three Labs and a Pool

Three labs and a pool is a great combination and a pet photographers dream. I had so much fun photographing these three brothers; Duke, Murphy, and Niko. Each one had a personality of their own. Duke is the beautiful chocolate lab with the golden eyes. He is the oldest of the bunch and keeps everyone in order, and he loves to play fetch! Murphy is the gorgeous yellow lab with the sweetest eyes, he is the middle kid and loves treats. Niko is the sleek black lab and the youngest of the pack, he is full of hugs and kisses and still has a lot of puppy in him!

By the end of the photo session it looked like I had jumped in the pool with them, you know that feeling when your tennis shoes are so soaked that they squish while you walk… lots of labs shaking off right out of the pool!

Calling all Scruffy Dog Lovers… The SCRUFF is in!

Meet Mogul (on the left) and Freedom (on the right). I have lovingly renamed them: Ewok and Wookie. These two have got some character! They are both at the SPCA of Dallas waiting for their forever homes.

Blue Skies Ahead

Back from vacation with blue skies and bright things to come. I have been so busy the past few weeks, all great things. I can’t wait to share! Coming up we have the cutest little westie in all of Dallas, Q-tip, yep that’s her name… I love it! Then we have a family of three labs: one yellow, one black, and one chocolate – and their favorite pastime… swimming. I also had a photoshoot with a family of 5… all on two legs.

Here is a quick photo from my vacation to Cabo San Lucas. Who says you can’t get a great photo out of a point and shoot camera that measures 4″x2″??

All the Beautiful Horses

I have got to be one of the luckiest girls in Texas! I was given the opportunity to go photograph five beautiful horses: CJ – the beautiful white horse (formally called a Gray), Samantha – the salt & pepper horse known as a Blue Roan, Mud Pie – the all black beauty, Promises – the loving reddish-brown horse (called a Sorrel) who has the white star-stripe on her forehead, & Secret – another Sorrel and Promises’ daughter! Horses are such beautiful and strong animals – yet at the same time just as sweet as can be. My new favorite thing is a horse’s muzzle (nose, mouth, chin). It is so soft and the whiskers on the chin are to die for! The owner of the horses was an incredible host, she taught me all about the different types of horses and also had each one put on a show for me. They were all perfectly trained.

SPCA Thursday

Today is Thursday – the day I get to go play with pups and kitties at the SPCA! There were some cuties and some characters there today. First up meet Glory – she made me giggle… it was her first day ever to be on a leash – she was just a sweetie and stayed right by my side. The photo on the right is what made me laugh so hard, believe it or not – she is standing completely still and there is no wind. When she heard a noise that she was interested in, her ears would start flapping like butterflies… I was so lucky to catch them in action!

These two are Gypsy and Millie, both so loving and looking for forever homes. Millie just wanted to give hugs the whole time. Even though we knew she wasn’t supposed to jump up, I couldn’t resist the hugs.

This little sweetheart stole my heart… Her eyes say it all!

And don’t forget the little kitty’s – I love how they start purring right when you open their kennel. Calmest grey kitten I’ve ever seen by the way!

I would also like to thank Sharon, my fellow volunteer at the SPCA of Texas in Dallas. All of these photos wouldn’t be possible without her help getting the animals ready for their glamor shot. Thank you Sharon!
