springtime

It really doesn’t get better than the weather this time of year and for Dallas – spring has definitely sprung. Blue skies, cool breezes, new flowers, green grass, and sunshine!

I snapped this photo on a trip to the Dallas Arboretum with my family. If you are in the Dallas area you must check out their Spring Blooms. Hope everyone has a great weekend outdoors!!

rosko!

Rosko… Hollywood is calling! I was filled with giddiness when Rosko, a 71 pound basset hound, pulled up with his mom in a bright pink Volkswagen convertible bug. A big entrance matched perfectly by Rosko’s big personality. He was the talk of the park and had many admirers. Everyone was drawn to him as if he was already the star he was born to be. I’ve never been around such a large Basset hound and I am in love with this guy from nose to tail! I even have a new addition to my warm and fuzzy, makes me want to squeal with joy list… you know: puppy kisses, warm chocolate chip cookies, and now Basset Hound paws 😉

jessica & spencer: deep ellum

I first met Spencer at Camp Bow Wow Valentine’s photo day (4th row down… what a cutie, huh?) It wasn’t long before I got a call from Spencer’s mom saying she was dying to set up a photo session of her and Spencer down in Deep Ellum. They have been living in downtown Dallas for many years and wanted to document their life in the big city. I was so super excited to see Spencer again. I photographed many, many, dogs that day but I actually remembered Spencer being such a sweet boy and well behaved to boot :) We ended up with some amazing weather, a little wind, and a wild goose chase to find the roof of a building to get some skyline photos but we managed to capture it all. The vibrant colors of Dallas’s Deep Ellum were perfect with Spencers beautiful black and white markings. I just love these two as a pair, Jessica adopted Spencer as a stray 10 years ago and have been inseparable ever since!

Baby Madison

Little baby Madison is just about as cute as one can handle. Her parents are so glad to welcome this baby girl, and I am so honored to be her first photographer. We shot these photos when she was just 10 days old! Congratulations to the proud parents, Patrick and Angela – hope you guys are getting some sleep!

Madison was a little angel and let us play dress up with her. How adorable is she in this little ruffle skirt?? I am so excited to watch her grow up and hopefully photograph her again in a real tutu!

This was the photo Madison’s parents chose for her birth announcement, designed by Salt + Pepper Press in Austin. I just love their work!! I also couldn’t get over this adorable hat that Madison’s mom bought for our session. It was the perfect color and perfect size… tiny! Check out Juls Nook on etsy if you are looking for something just as cute!

SPCA Thursday

I know, I know, where are my SPCA Thursday’s?? Well they are back, back with this awesome weather we’ve been having that is. It’s not that we haven’t been up at the shelter working with these adorable guys, it’s that the weather just never seems to want to work with me to capture their photos. Until now that is!! Have you looked out your window? It is gorgeous outside and these furry friends are ready to be in your back yard :)

First up is the handsome Kaiser, who really reminds me a my little Layla (who is also from the SPCA). He’s a tad larger than Layla but just as silly! Love the markings :)

And this sweet girl is Rio, who is full of personality and knows “sit.”

Check out all of Rio’s awesome expressions…

Piper is all Beagle – that nose, that grin, and those soft – floppy ears!

I don’t think I’ve ever met a dog with two different shades of brown eyes! Too cool. Petey has one chocolate eye and one golden eye. Plus he is just down right sweet!

If you’ve spent any time around kids you know who Tow-Mater is… well this puppies name is Tow-Mater which to me is hysterical. This little guy is going to be a BIG one once he’s all grown up, but he is also going to be a show stopper because he is so soft and gorgeous!

Now while both of these gals names are Missy – they’ve got personalities all their own. Missy on the left is a little corgi mix who was shy at first but ready to cuddle. Missy on the right is a cattle dog who is ready to run and play!

All of these adorable dogs are available for adoption at the SPCA of Texas. If you are curious to know more about their personalities just let me know 😉
