Meet Macy and Mallory – two beautiful sisters. I am so lucky because I get to live right next door to them. They are huge fans of Willie and love to play soccer with him. A few weeks ago we loaded up and headed to the Dallas Arboretum for a morning of play and photos. I am super happy with the way their photo session turned out because I really do feel like it captures their loving, silly, and happy personalities.

That’s Mallory in the blue and Macy in the purple. So beautiful!

This is Macy’s impression of Willie… pretty darn cute!

Meet beautiful baby Judah, only 2 weeks old and ready for his first photo shoot. He is such a sweet baby and his parents couldn’t be better people if they tried. I just love this family so much. I was lucky enough to meet Judah’s mom, Amy, at my first architecture job here in Dallas. We became fast friends and now I am honored to photograph her new baby. I am excited to see Judah grow and Amy become an amazing mom. Congratulations!

These are two of my favorite photos from the shoot! I love his little tootsies and the photo of their little family is perfect.

I snapped this photo on the left before the session started. I was working on the lighting and noticed his little chin and pouty lips and just couldn’t resist

Today is the first day of summer – well technically that is. It has been summer for quite some time here in Dallas – multiple days with the temperature reaching 100! Maybe someone should tell the calendar makers to move it up a week or two

Harry and Coco sure know how to enjoy summer time. You might remember Harry and Coco from a year ago – they recently got a new little sister named Gigi. Her debut on Blue Mutt will be coming soon – and you won’t want to miss this adorable little girl. For their second photoshoot Harry and Coco were pros. Harry enjoyed the breeze – cooling off in his hammock under a huge tree, while Coco jumped for joy in the green grass – showing off her moves for everyone. I think I might join Harry in the hammock – seems like he’s go the right idea for the summer time heat! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and keeping cool!

…crazy around here the past week or so. Almost comical really. It all started with me getting sick last Wednesday – not on my list of things to do! I’ve been sleeping on the couch so that I don’t have to take care of a sick husband, which in my book can sometimes be worse than just being sick myself. Yes my husband is a bit of a baby… but I do love him! We are also dog sitting for a friend while he’s on vacation. The dog’s name is Buster and he is about the sweetest dog in the entire world, he’s a leaner and always wants to be right with you. Only one problem… Buster is afraid of our hardwood floors – which is the entire house! So we have to carry him from area rug to area rug of whatever room we are in or else he will stand at the very edge of the rug and whine. It is pretty hysterical, he’s been getting a little braver and venturing out some on his own. But he can’t make a b-line for where he wants to go exactly, he has to stop at each rug on the way and gather up his nerves again. Buster just loves Willie and does whatever Willie does.

Monday, Willie came in from some time outside and immediatley laid down and started licking his paw – not normal behavior for Willie. So I went to take a look and saw it was bleeding a little and Willie was whimpering. I looked and looked for a sticker burr or a splinter from the deck – but there was nothing. He wouldn’t put any weight on it at all. Within 5 minutes his foot had doubled in size and I was on my way to the vet! Willie was given some medicine directly into his blood stream along with some other shots and a big rinse of his paw. They kept him there for 2 hours to watch him and soak his paw in salt water. We aren’t really sure what happened – worst case senerio would be a snake bite, best case would be a wasp or bee sting. Whatever it was, Willie was having a bad reaction to it. After 2 hours Willie was ready to go home, he looked much better – he was putting weight on his foot but it was still swollen even up to his elbow. The vet said that since it had stopped swelling and he was putting weight on it so soon, it most likely wasn’t a snake bite – THANK GOODNESS!!

As of now Willie’s foot is completely back to normal, except for the patch of hair I shaved off while trying to look for bite marks… don’t tell Brad I used his electric razor

I’ll leave you with an adorable photo of good things to come! Meet Sadie – the aussie puppy that will melt any heart!

Coming Up: More photos of Sadie, 2 Cocker Spaniels – Bailey & Jake, 2 black labs – Duchess & Painted Lady, and a BABY boy – Little Will

Meet Mollie – when her mom called me and told me she wanted a photo session with her 11 year old Lab I was ready for a super slow, lovely old lady photo session. BOY was I in for a surprise! Mollie had so much energy and was ready to run, swim, roll, jump – and I was loving every minute of it! It makes me so happy to see such energy and health is an older pup! It was plain to see how much Mollie loved her mom and how much her mom loved her. I can tell they have an amazing bond and was happy to help capture that bond.

We had a lovely lazy Easter weekend here in the Cameron household. So I pulled out a little lens that I hadn’t used in a while – the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 fixed lens. Since the aperture is so large (f/1.8) it makes the forground and background very blurry – which can create some great effects! However, it can also be tricky. You have to pick exactly what you want the lens to focus on. In the picture below I chose to focus on Willie’s nose:

And in this one I chose to focus on Willie’s eye. Even 3 or 4 inches makes a difference.

It was great to just play around with my lens and my pup – he was such a good boy we went straight to the park for some fun! I love my life as a pet photographer.

My niece and I recently got to go on another “adventure” together – which is code for a photo shoot with me! Ansley is 2.5 years old and just too cute for words, really – I mean it. One of her all time favorite things to do is sssswwwwwiiiinnggg! This girl loves to swing and recently she has started swinging with her eyes closed, which make my stomach turn just watching her – when did I get so old? I love the lighting in the photos – we started out very early in the morning, while the sun was still very low in the sky. You can see in some of the photos I was playing with getting the sunlight in her hair. I just love how carefree children are and I love being able to capture that through photography – Enjoy!
