These are two of my favorite photos from the shoot! I love his little tootsies and the photo of their little family is perfect.

I snapped this photo on the left before the session started. I was working on the lighting and noticed his little chin and pouty lips and just couldn’t resist

The Cameron family grew by one this past weekend. Meet our new pup Layla! I first met Layla at the SPCA of Texas and instantly fell in love with her. She was petrified – extremely scared of people and suffering in the shelter environment. We are guessing that she was running with a pack of strays because she is perfectly comfortable around other dogs, it’s just people that make her nervous – very nervous. I spent a couple of hours with her at the SPCA trying to get her to warm up to me, and hopefully others. But I ended up falling in love with her and just two days later she was here in our home. Layla is such a sweet girl but still painfully shy – we are working on it and she is getting more comfortable with us every minute. She is already best friends with her big brother Willie!

We have no idea what type of breeds are in Layla, but we plan on asking our vet. Any guesses?

Now here is where I need your help. We kept Layla’s name from the SPCA, we felt like it really did fit her shy demeanor. But we are stuck on her middle name. Yes, all dogs need a middle name. Willie’s full name is Wilson Lincoln Kolle Cameron (seriously). We just can’t seem to find the right fit for Layla. So I am asking you guys… What should Layla Cameron’s middle name be??

I think this last photo might be my favorite, as far as Layla’s first day at our home, this pretty much says it all. Such a sweet girl! By the way – I realize that all of these photos are in the same spot, that’s because for some reason she decided the back door floor matt was her safe spot for the day… Many many more photos to come, that is once she’s ready

First up is Rope – a beautiful Vizsla, who has won many awards and is just as sweet as can be. Who could resist that smile?

And Nick – a handsome mutt. Nick is a big goofball with the biggest puppy tongue I have ever seen. I got a good giggle from that

Meet Gus, the family’s little love bug – seriously he is tiny in comparison to all his brothers and sisters! When I went back to the client’s home for their consultation Gus sat in my lap the entire time – Love it!

And last, but certainly not least, is Maggie. Maggie is Rope’s sister,  yep they are the same age! We can’t seem to figure out why Maggie has gotten some gray and Rope hasn’t. My opinion – the aging process for us girls just isn’t fair  But Maggie is just as stunning as Rope (having won many awards herself) and was ready to show off for me.

While back at home their feline friends were ready for their own session, well sort of. Remember my rules for photographing a cat: the cat is always in charge! These two were a little unsure but were just gorgeouse. That is Biggio on the left and Anni on the right.

A rare family shot – who shrunk Gus??

I was so excited to see him again and meet his brother Casper, with his beautiful blue eyes! Scout is the older of the two at 10 years old, but you would never know it – aside from the presence of  his white eyebrows(so cute). You can even see a difference in his “aging” from February 2009 (above) to today. He is a “happy-go-lucky” guy, who really loves his Dad… and chasing squirrels. Casper, on the other hand, is only 2 and 1/2 years old – and very careful and shy. He is named Casper for a couple different reasons. First of all he is super friendly – lots of love for everyone around (that is once he knows you’re a dog lover) but holds a special place in his heart for his Mom. He also likes to hide and peak around corners to see what’s going on before joining in the fun. Also, you can never overlook his beautiful ice-blue eyes!

I love these two photos together. If I had to caption them… 1. Awe, mmmoooom – why do you have to embarrass me all the time. 2. Okay, I love you too and give kisses now! You embarrassed? (okay so I’m no comedian – check out I Has a Hot Dog for some real laughs!)

Action time – I wanted to highlight the ball that Casper is about to snag out of the air, can you find it? I just love Scouts face in his action shot – very determined!

Harry and Coco sure know how to enjoy summer time. You might remember Harry and Coco from a year ago – they recently got a new little sister named Gigi. Her debut on Blue Mutt will be coming soon – and you won’t want to miss this adorable little girl. For their second photoshoot Harry and Coco were pros. Harry enjoyed the breeze – cooling off in his hammock under a huge tree, while Coco jumped for joy in the green grass – showing off her moves for everyone. I think I might join Harry in the hammock – seems like he’s go the right idea for the summer time heat! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and keeping cool!

These little love bugs at the SPCA of Texas need a home. The kitty above is Miranda, she’s a little shy – but very sweet. I actually had my camera on the wrong setting when I snapped this photo, but I love how it turned out. Below is Boomer and he has the best ears I’ve ever seen on a dog! The first photo is “normal” boomer, ready for his glamour shot. In the second photo I made a noise and his ears went wild – straight out into the air. I about lost it which made Boomer very excited. He is only two years old and needs a loving home that will take care of him and get him a little exercise (but don’t tell him that)

There are tons of lovable animals at the SPCA of Texas who are in need of a home – Adopt a Shelter Dog or Cat and be loved for life!

I love, love, love when dogs tilt their head – believe me if you’ve ever been with me on a photoshoot I’ve got some really strange noises in my arsenal that can almost always get a tilt – no room for embarrassment when you’re a pet photographer. Usually my clients, who are awesome, will start trying to make their own noises to get a tilt. I even had one client get out his phone and use all his different ring tones  -Love it. But… I have never, ever been able to get Willie to tilt his head, either he knows all my tricks or he’s just too smart to be fooled. So when I found out Missy tilts her head at any noise I was giddy, and got my camera out as fast as I could. Also, you can see a peek of my office with the rug she’s on… my favorite color is orange and a black and white dog looks so good on it
